Eye Gaze Technology
This presentation will introduce participants to current eye gaze technology that is available on the Australian market. This technology can enable students with physical limitations to access the computer and communication. A range of products from various suppliers will be presented. Information will be provided about;
- which students may be suitable to trial this technology
- what is involved to access and trial this equipment in Western Australia
Kelly Moore is a Speech Pathologist with a special interest for working in AAC with clients of all ages and abilities. Kelly first worked in remote Western Australia as a sole clinician servicing towns in the East Kimberley. She then worked for a school age therapy service before joining her current employer, the Independent Living Centre (ILC) WA. Kelly is the Senior Speech Pathologist and coordinator of the ILC Tech team. In this role, Kelly works closely with her colleagues, to support the provision up to date information and advice about communication and other assistive technologies to the WA community.
Jessica Rigden is an Occupational Therapist working at the Independent Living Centre (ILC) of WA. She works across both the ILC Tech and Assistive Equipment Service to deliver information and training on assistive equipment. Jessica has a strong commitment to improving access to computers and telecommunications for people with disabilities. Jessica has previously worked for Rocky Bay’s Therapy and Professional Services working with children and adults with neuromuscular conditions.
